It's looking at a bird
And seeing a life
Or a freedom
Or a curse

It's seeing colors
And hearing emotions

Feeling words
And writing nonsense

Perspective
You're looking up
I'm trying not to look at my feet

You're watching the clouds fly by
I'm watching time run away, dragging the clouds with it

You wish on a star
I kiss the man in the moon

You lay down on the sidewalk because you're tired
(or because I asked you to)
I lay down because I love the feeling of drowning in my own gravity

You mock a lonely girl in the corner of the room
I seize an opportunity

You sigh at a rainy, cloudy sky
I see a canvas and a set of watercolors

You read a heartfelt poem
I write heartfelt nothings

Poetry is perspective
and your perspective
is
